Cannot Loose This

June 10, 2008

This is my view from the sixth floor of 7301 N. Sheridan Road.

I do not want to lose it, to have it replaced by a red brick wall.

The real estate developer, Richard Aronson, would like to steal this view from me and the six other tenants whose main living space overlooks what is now, and should remain, a parking lot.

The developer, Richard Aronson, has plans to cram forty-four apartments and 3,000 sqaure feet of retail space and fifty-two parking spaces into his proposed building, not realizing, of course, the impact this will have on the neighbors and the ecosystem of this particular portion of Chicago’s lakefront.

He, Richard Aronson, is only concerned with ‘making a profit’; throughout the ages, this has usually been known as ‘greed’.

Richard Aronson’s ‘GREEN’ building will cut off not only this view, but also all natural light and healthful airflow of seven apartments here. Our energy bills will also increase. This “GREEN building must not darken our lives for the sake of one man’s greed.

I found this during breakfast at Tweet the morning after the (7315 N. Sheridan Road Proposal), meeting and thought it was relevant.
